I am officially very very very cheesed off with myself. Last time I was upset but expected it. This time i'm just bloody annoyed.

Failed on the u turn AGAIN!

Got there in loads of time - despite that big lorry crash on one of the roundabouts into Newcastle - even practiced the u turns a few times on the way there. No problems at all.

We'd literally just left the test centre when I was asked to do the stupid u turn. I couldn't possibly comment on why I did it as it was all going really well but my right foot left the foot rest and before you know it its on the bloody floor - grrrrrrr Had been practicing on that very road moments before so was mightily cheesed off with myself.

The really annoying bit is that because it had been the very first thing, I then had to ride round Newcastle for however long it was - say 25 minutes - totally cheesed off with myself, knowing that I'd failed anyway and not really seeing the point in going much further. While I wouldn't have failed based on the minors that I stacked up, my riding was bloody awful compared to what I know I can do.

Not to be defeated I hope I can squeeze in one more attempt before I go to the USA on 26th June.

Ah now there in lies the problem coz it's not really a holiday - I'm moving over there - although this trip is really a find a house etc trip rather than the actual move itself.

having said that - my American friends tell me they don't have to do u turns as part of the test over there so I'll at least be able to get my license there! :D

Hi Fiona,
So you are going to let the DSA get the better of you?
Not the Fiona I thought!!!!!!
Get another in straight away, ASAP otherwise you may never know
Please book another, keep practising, and prove the DSA wrong ok?

The DSA are getting the better of my bank account that's for sure :D

I've booked the retest already. Macclesfield 25th June - day after Donnington and the day before I fly out - might not be the best of timing but test slots seem to be like gold dust :D

I will get this license. Even if I have to convince the examiner to look the other way while I do the u turn :D

Well done,
Now I am sure that your riding was again good, and without the u-turn you would have passed the test
Therefore, keep practising the u-turn, and I mean keep practising, until you are sick of them, and confident that they become natural.
I am sure if you wish, there are many volunteers on the forum that would be more than happy to meet up, and assist with you where posiible.
Is that correct guy's and gal's?

I shall be out and about in Macc this Friday night practicing. And out and about round Congleton on Saturday probably. The rest of the time I'm stuck over in Chesterfield trying to avoid the idiots in their Stupid Ugly Vehicles who drive around with blindfolds on.

The test knocked my confidence a bit but I'm back on track. Been out practicing today and all went well.

Did you know I'm racked up 1200 miles since my first test? Eeek.
