Hi - just wanted to introduce myself - i was looking for some kind of forum for newbies to biking and here it is!!! I'm 36 years old and don't ride at the moment but am going 4 my free 30min assessment on tuesday to see where i am before i try my CBT!
Hoping to chat to people about anything and everything - bikes especially but i'm into TV, films, reading etc!
Give me a shout!

Gary (Razzer13) :D

Hi Gary and welcome to the training forum!
So you are going to go for an assessment before your CBT? great news and I'm sure it will not put you off!
Where are you located? and who are you doing your CBT with? What bike are you thinking of getting?
The training forum is only a month old, so still very new to everyone, however I am logging on everyday, so any questions regarding motorcycle training please register them, and I and others will reply.
If you know of anyone else that is interested in getting into biking then please let them know about the forum.
How were you directed to the training forum?:D

Hi - i'm off for my assessment on Tuesday with Roadrunner - who are based in Leeds and thats where i found the initial link that led me to the forum! I'm hoping that things go well before i decide what bike to get - probably a 125 to start off with if i can pass my CBT - bit nervous about it all cos i did try the CBT about 15years ago and i wasn't as good as the other riders which is way i wanted an assessment before trying my hand at the CBT - didn't want to waste my money and the instructor's time if i'm a hopeless case! :D

Sounds good, and I am sure you will be fine with it.
At least you will get a bit of a head start this time with the assessment first.
However don't think you are wasting your Instructors time because if he/she is a good Instructor they will pitch the course to your individual need.
The important thing is not to put too much pressure on yourself, and try and enjoy the day.
I wish you well with the assessment, and CBT, and please let us on the forum know when it is :D

Hi

Postby razzer13 on Mon May 21, 2007 1:36 pm

Just to keep you updated - the saga of my assessment rumbles on... i went on thursday but the instructor didn't turn up so after about twenty minutes of waiting and leaving him a couple of calls then i ended up going home!
I've spoken to the instructor this morning and he apologised because someones bike had broken down and he didn't have my number to contact me - so we've re-arranged it for tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) at 4:30pm.... fingers crossed its third time lucky!
