Got myself signed up here then :D

Fiona here - managed to fail my test this morning not because of the poor training - just because I'm a right numpty who can't keep her foot off the floor doing a u-turn :D Oh there were tears but at least I didn't srop the bike this time :D

As soon as I get paid I shall book myself another test and spend all day driving round in circles to make sure I don't get caught out by it again!

Thanks for all the help and encouragement over the weekend. Despite my u-turn phobia I'm so much more confident than when I started on Friday morning. As a result the few minor faults I did pick up were about as minor as you could get :D No worries about the next test, just want to sort out that blooming u-turn thing!

June 6th at the ungodly time of 7.20am :S In Newcastle this time because I'm not hanging around for ever to get a slot in Macclesfield. I want to get rid of those plates! I shall get that license if it's the last thing I do!

ha those bloody u turns will be the death of me - I'm still feeling dizzy from going round and round in circles all day yesterday! Only had to pick the bike up once though so I guess that would be some improvement :D

oh yes I shall be on my own bike - cbr125 - my little baby which is still looking remarkably scratch free considering the number of times she's hit the floor!

I know I CAN do it - I've found a nice little road near my mum's to annoy someone else's neighbours while I practice all day tomorrow :D

hi fiona
cbr 125 great bike to learn on
practise is the main thing my wife st/m d tryed what seemed like for ever
to do u turns on her bandit but althought she got better at them in the end she did,nt think she could do it right for her test so opted to do it on rob.s 125 an passed :D the bandits restricted to 33bhp for the next two years but she don,t mind the bike seems plently quick enought
and has for u turns she doe,s like john said an go and find a roundabout

ah I think I may have found my solution to the problem - well ok a decent place to practice

found myself an empty car park - started off by just riding on the road as normal but going right then right again - so basically going round the two rows of parking bays - then just started to see how tight I could get the turn - never put my foot down once - actually feel loads better about my control of the bike and my turning is much more consistent - I'll have it well and truly sorted by the end of the weekend I think :D

oh the other good thing about this car park was that it isn't near a residential area so no complaints from any residents :D

Hi fiona,

best of luck for your next test.

I can vouch for the fact that the width of road on my U turn was bigger than the ones we were practicing on.

When we were practicing in Newcastle we used the road to the left of the marshes playing fields, you may well have been there yourself with Rob.

On the test he took me around an estate in clayton both for the U turn and emergency stop. The emergency stop was my problem exercise - kept changing down the gears as I was stopping.

Anyway all the best for the 6th.

regards, Steve.
