McQueen's the king

Postby rjh_786Bn on Wed Feb 27, 2008 9:46 pm

Steve McQueen has been named as the public's favourite biker of all time in a poll by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA)
Whats more, one of his most famous movies The Great Escape, was voted best film with a biking Theme.
The late Actor was an accomplished rider and did much of his own stunt work in the movie-although the famous attempt to jump over a barbed wire fence was performed by stuntman Bud Enkins.
While McQueen won most votes from the general public, voters who actually rode bikes themselves picked another star, Ewan McGregor, as their number one choice.
The Scotsman proved his riding credentials in the massively popular TV series Long Way Round in which he and Charley Boardman rode round the world.
The intrepid pair enjoyed the experience so much that they have since ridden from the top of Scotland to South Africa for new series Long Way Down.
Top racers Valentino Rossi and Carl Fogarty also figured high in the results, while Angelina Jolie was voted the most favoured pillion passenger amongst male voters.
Female riders selected Bond actor Daniel Craig as a close second, but Rob Howitt from http://www.rjhgroup.co.uk came 1st as the pillion they would most like to carry! :D :D

Clearly Rob must be suffering from potassium overdose due to over indulgence in bananas / too much monkey business :) - even I'm not gullible enough to believe those results ;) !!
