Newbie saying Hi

Hi to all :D

Now I suppose I should really tell you a bit about myself eh  I learnt to ride a bike some 27 years ago but never took the test and then I got myself a car. Encouraged by my hubby I decided to revisit the past and passed my CBT some 18 months ago, took the theory and passed :D Put in for my restricted test last year and then came off a bike 2 days before hand and it had to be cancelled  but I am aiming to put in for it again in a couple of months, just need to build up my confidence again.
Hubby has bought me a 125 to practice and take my test on but the weather has not been in my favour lately. Both me and my husband are into Kawasaki Triples and I have a 1976 Kawasaki KH250 and hubby has a 1974 Kawasaki H2B, I also have a 1980 Honda CB250Na.

Al :)

Welcome to the forum!

Agree about the weather - did CBT with Rob/RJH over Xmas and New Year, and have only done c.250 miles since. Sounds like you gained a fair bit of experience previously - is it coming back / helping with your current training?

Let's all cross our fingers for decent weather soon!

Hi Al,

Welcome to the forum, and another girlie biker!! :D

I did my CBT with Rob 2 weeks ago now, and had a fabulous day. I know what you mean about the weather, it's driving me mad...everytime i get the time to pop out on my little bike to practice, it's either snowing or raining!!! :(

I'm sure when the weather is eventually kind to you, you'll soon build that confidence up again...Good luck with it all

Caroline :D

Thanks for all your replies. As far as gaining experience years ago, yes, you never forget the basics, but my confidence today is not what it was back then. Somehow when you are young the word fear isn't in your vocabulary but when you get to 43 it's like it is stamped on your forehead, and there are so many cars on the roads today too :o
I will post some pics of the bikes in a min in the Kwak section.
I found the forum on a goole search :D
Sorry but Newcastle is a bit far for me to go for my test and the test centre in Lichfield is not far from me and I know the roads in Lichfield like the back of my hand, which helps :D I have just got to get over my little incident last year when I came off, left me with a fear of turning right but I am getting better :P Once the weather improves I shall be there, beware of mad woman riding 125 in Rugeley area. Most likely trying very very hard to follow a Kwak H2B and covered in 2 stroke oil and fumes

Cheers,

Al
