ABBA Bike Stand

I’ve come across a great stand for those of you without a centre stand.

I had previously just been using a bog standard paddock stand for maintenance checks (Chain/lube) but found that the bike never looked particularly stable, and although the bike never actually fell off the stand I was always keen to get the ‘lubing’ done ASAP before anything horrible happened. Put it this way, the stand didn’t sit 90% to the floor, but more like 80% with both arms pointing right…. Maybe a defective stand, but hay a little bit cheap and nasty none the less!

Anyway long story short, I needed to change my rear tyre, and with the lack of drive in drive out motorbike places in Macclesfield I needed to take just my rear wheel to the fitting shop, meaning I have to leave my bike on a stand for an indefinite amount of time.

After a thorough look around I stumbled across a brand called ‘ABBA’ (that’s a brand not a band, no sequins on this one) at a bike shop near work (Near Liverpool Docks) while I was eying up an Enfield.

The guy in the shop gave me a demo of the stand and it was solid as a rock. When propped up you could stand on the swing-arm, mount/dismount, try to rock the bike and it wouldn’t budge. IDEAL! This is the stand that they used in their workshop.

The stand itself dependant on the model of the bike cups the mid engine bolts acting as a pivot point. You’ll get the idea if you check out the website:

it was quite expensive weighing in at around £90 but this is a piece of kit to last a lifetime. If you change bike you just need to check if you have/or need a different fitting kit a about £14 dependant on model again:

As you can tell I was pretty impressed with this product and would recommend to anyone!

Much more info on the site.
