I've been looking at this bike for a while now, silly i know as i havent even done my CBT yet  , but i must admit im very tempted.
Is it ideal for a first bike bike? even if i take my test on a 125 i could buy one and get the restrictor kit fitted :D :D

hi val
honda cbr 600 are a great bike weather you learner or been riding bikes for years they are a very forgiving bike to ride :D

restricting them in my opinion not a good idea :(
you can get restrictor kits for them trouble is its a 100bhp bike restricted to 33bhp it will be guttless it will eat spark plugs because it will be running hot all the time and will dry out oil seals in engine and could cause more trouble in the future

this is just my opinion somebody else will ave different views

but buy it anyway and the sight of it sitting there will make you more determend to past your das :D

cheers
ian

Hi Ian, yeah thats basically what the other half has said, he says buy it anyway, and if i have to take my test on a 125 he said he will look after the CBR til i can ride it  i'e he will take it out and throw it round the bends for me, cheeky so and so  .
Im not going to rush into buying anything yet anyway, dont think its worth it until ive done my cbt, and see how comfortable i am on a 500.
Thanks for the advice Ian :D

Hi Val :)

I thought the same before i took my cbt :?
I decided to go for DAS rather than 125 (i'm so glad i did
as its the same test anyway)
I found a 500 was easier to ride than 125 and i'm sure you will
find the same.
I bought myself a cbr600fs before doing my training, theory, and test.
I used to polish it every day :( now i ride it every day :D :D :D
CBR600F handles lovely, the brakes are spot on. i wouldn't like to
ride it at 33bhp though especially at traffic lights when a young
boy-racer is at the side of me in his vauxhall nova with go faster stripes

Hi Mr T :D
A lot of people have said to me that i'll find a 500 easier to ride than a 125, and my fiance's old instructor said to me i'd get bored after a week on a 125 too  Sooo i am buying a CBR600
Then i can polish it for a while while im doing the CBT, training and test

I found the 500 was a lot smoother ride, far less gear changes,
and was a lot better at pulling off at junctions.i felt a lot more at ease
than on a 125
As long as your strong enough and feel comfortable on a 500 i'm
sure you'll feel the same
GO FOR IT

Hi Mr T :D
Yes, i picked it up, its in the garage looking very sorry for itself on paddock stands  , its having new tyres fitted, that was the only thing it needed, its very shiny, ive washed and polished it already
Sunday is my CBT so its 6 days to go
I've got to wait for my new passport to come back before i can take my theory but i have been practising, bought 2 books, the official DSA ones and ive still got my highway code from when i took my car test :D
