Ian,

Sorry mate I got your message too late about trip to DK's.

I went up on friday afternoon last week.

Saw a nice BM K1200 RS for sale but not sure if the riding positions too forward for what I want.

At least they would allow me to have a test ride if I wanted ( take your licence and £10 and your away ! )

Went onto BS and booked a test ride on a Bonneville for Sat but looks like the weather will put a stop to that

The good news is that the CDI unit for the Gagiva is in the post so hope to be running again soon.

Went to the bike event at Britannia stadium on sunday and it was better than I thought it would be -a good stunt show and some nice bikes to look at from local dealers.

Are you out much on the GV or is the weather stopping you?

Regards, Steve.

Test rides

Postby SteveA on Wed Jul 04, 2007 9:45 pm

Hi All,

I recently found out that passing your test doesn't allow you to go out and try the 'dream' bikes you thought of.

Honda centre in West street Crewe - wanted to try a Deuville - none as a demo machine and they didn't suggest any other models they had available.

Blue Bell BMW- have to have passed your test for at least a year before you could take a test ride on anything.

Foleys in Longton were ok but may deny test rides depending on the individual.

On the plus side DK's were ok as described above and BS bikes (Triumph) were even better as they didn't charge a test ride fee.

Wondered if anyone else had experienced similar with other retailers?

Regards, Steve.
