CBT Qualified Instructors

Postby rjh_786Bn on Fri Jul 13, 2007 10:21 am

We are currently completing CBT Courses, double the quantity of last year. We have vacancies for Part Time CBT Qualified Instructors.
You may think that you are the best rider in the world, but not every rider would be suitable to become a motorbike instructor.
There are several things that a rider needs to have before they can be considered to become an instructor.
They must have a full clean motorbike licence and must have held this licence for at least three years.
They must also not have a criminal record.
Other aspects to consider would be that a potential instructor must be confident, knowledgeable, patient and responsible and most importantly a good communicator at all levels.

Anyone interested please contact us. GOOD RATE OF PAY AND STAFF DISCOUNT FROM OUR COLLECTION OF BRANDS once your training was complete.
Please visit http://www.rjhgroup.co.uk for the Instructor Training Information

54 views and no replies :(

I take it from this then - that most of you on this forum have either
got a criminal record and done 10 years for a small incident
with a sawn-off....or been to enthuiastic with the throttle and have
a few bonus points on your licence as the get away driver

Hi Ian, the following requirements:

There are several things that a rider needs to have before they can be considered to become an instructor.
They must have a full clean motorbike licence and must have held this licence for at least three years.
They must also not have a criminal record.
Other aspects to consider would be that a potential instructor must be confident, knowledgeable, patient and responsible and most importantly a good communicator at all levels.

The training can be done at the pace of the trainee, some I have trained over a week, some take longer, everyone is different.

Who do you have in mind

Being a proficient rider helps too but what many fail
to realise is that this job requires teaching skills first and
foremost.

It's rewarding, allowing you the opportunity to put
something back into biking, time consuming, frustrating, cold,
wet, hot, very wet and cold, no money in it, uses up all your
weekends and spare time, you turn into DAYGLO JOHNNY (me! ),
Honda Deauvilles are sexy while GSXR1000's are just plain silly,
you have to keep a clean licence so your own enjoyment on the
roads has to be at legal speeds and finally did I mention you
get wet and cold.

Remember - it's an all year round job - and minus 9 in
February is no joke......

But it is the BEST JOB IN THE WORLD

Well said JT, and I agree there is no money in it   Unless of course you work for someone else

Different levels of Instructor's authorisation.

1) Down Trained which means you can conduct CBT for the particular ATB that trained you, this would also enable you to conduct 125cc training. All this can be done through an ATB such as RJH which is DSA approved. There is no exam, however ATB check tests every 12 weeks and DSA check test, which is the whole CBT that you conduct being assessed.

2) Cardington 2 day assessment, enables you to conduct CBT, and also enables you to go on to train as a DAS Instructor (big bike) through another half day assessment. Ultimately this option enables you to set up as your own ATB.

Depends where you want to go with it.

Hope this helps.

No plans to my knowledge, that DSA are planning to change the training process.
