Collecting my new Eliminator 250

Postby Helen_86 on Sat Jul 07, 2007 12:04 pm

Today's the day... I'm going to Rossendale to go and pick up the "bigger brother" of my current 125 Eliminator. I'm progressing from a baby bike to a toddler! Wish me luck! :D

Here's one of the eBay pics (I like this one because the shape of the rear lights reminds me of K-9 from Dr Who!) :D

:D:D:D Loving it! :D:D:D

My first thought when I saw the bike was... ooh, that's not as pretty as my present bike at all... and was a little worried that I may have made a mistake. I also found to my surprise that it's actually not the same riding position as mine, it's much more upright.

But then I had a lovely ride home on a great little bike that, compared to my 125, goes like STINK!! It had a slight blip on the motorway. It had been doing 70 happily and getting to 80 (on a slight downhill slope) but the power then started dying off until I couldn't get above 60mph. But the power all came back once I'd coasted down part of a hill, revving the engine and then let the clutch out again.

It needs a good clean and polish but I'm very pleased at the power of it and the fun I've been having with it already! As soon as I got home with it, I went straight back out again for lovely play around the lanes... for another hour :D

I'll probably be coming to the unit soon to get another disc lock, although the bike does already have an alarm and immobiliser. But right now, I'm going out for another play! :D

Yee haw!

*ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!*
Nope... won't be back for some time... :D

Actually, I haven't been able to take it out today as I had to attend a private birthday gig at the Water's Green Tavern in Macc from 2:30 onwards (and I wasn't awake for long before hand!) Drinking many pints of fine real ale was compulsory, so I decided to leave the bike at home :D

However, I did take my brother out on it yesterday evening for a quick jaunt round, and then I rode it to the Nag's Head. The alarm definitely works, as a drunk girl proved when she decided to sit on it! :P

Aside from the bike being rather reluctant to start at 1:30am when I wanted to leave the Nag's, it did quite well... it had me worried for a few minutes there! :)

Fingers crossed for good weather tomorrow... :D :D

P.S. Yeah, calling in for a brew with you would've been cool Mr Summoner :) I was a bit busy harassing the salesman though ;) :D
P.P.S. Nice scenery round Rossendale! :)

 I've had to book Dave Ball already

The bike refused to start today, despite eveything I tried doing to it. Very cheesed off, especially as the sun decided to come out then as well. Dave's coming to look at it tomorrow. Grrrrr!

The guy who's buying the 125 will be coming tomorrow to pay for and pick up the bike. The price he's agreed to pay was at my request, so if all goes to plan (touch wood!), yes I'll be happy with it :)

The problem that was preventing the 250 from starting yesterday was approximately 5'4'' tall with long brown hair...  Err! I mean, yes there was a major problem with the bike *cough cough!* but Dave fixed it really quickly, cos he's good like that! ;)

I have got a couple of pics of the bike, but there was a slight problem of the sunlight reflecting off the chrome, leaving the camera a bit dazzled :P :D

Plus, since taking those pics, I have bought a luggage rack for it. That took a 4 hour round trip to Clay Cross, near Chesterfield but was well worth it, as I haven't found anything else to fit it.

I will post pictures once I have washed it and polished it up again, and hopefully found somewhere slightly more picturesque than my road :D
