long story short - I survived my most scarey bike moment - yes even more scarey than those bloody u turns
bike got serviced on Saturday and I'm riding along afterwards, as you do, when I get a sudden and total loss of power - no warning - thought my chain had snapped at first - got that kind of looseness I get when that happens on the pedal powered bike - but that wasn't it - the whole thing went kind of deathly quiet
I managed to keep it upright - wobbled a fair old bit though - and get it to the side of the road without either falling off or being hit by anything
anyway it turned out to be a trapped breather tube - didn't know whether to be proud of myself for not dying or thump the mechanic for being an idiot and not putting things back together properly
Now in a car I'd have flicked my hazards - not an option on the bike - so how can you best warn people behind you have a major problem - I was too scared to lift my hand off the bars because I was trying to keep my balance and just a teeny bit scared - and just seeing my brake lights didn't seem to have any effect on the person behind who got dangerously close before noticing I was in trouble
