RIDE-OUT

Postby Rjhmt on Sat Apr 14, 2007 6:44 pm

Is there anyone that would like to arrange a Ride-Out, as in 2 days 17 registered users! I think the Forum is going to be something special! :)

We now have 28 registered members, in 6 days, so just a little following.
If a ride-out is arranged for the weekends, I will need a good 6-8weeks notice due to work, however I could attend on any evening at shorter notice!
My preference would be to avoid the bigger weekly events like the Stormy Petrol, because the mix of bikers attitudes that attend.
However if someone would like to arrange I am more than happy to support.

...ride outs...

Postby simplejim on Wed May 02, 2007 2:39 pm

now then,

Not sure exactly what goes into the organisation of a ride out except for the obvious route, numbers, riding plan etc...I'll gladly try to organise one and see how I go...

could do with knowing what people generally consider a good distance/time as everyone's different and any preferences for type of roads/food etc etc.

In the mean time I can give it some thought.

Jim
(PS - my head hurts already...)

Great news Jim,
I will also give some thought over the next day or two.
Initially set a date/time/meeting venue/destination etc.. in order to estimate numbers.
At the meeting venue issue map's, group ride out guidlines, and ensure different groups skill levels!
I will get some of my notes out and forward to you for consideration.
North Wales is good! :D
I will happily go where ever, look forward to it.

North Wales - Sunday 1st July

Postby simplejim on Wed Jun 13, 2007 8:03 pm

Its taken a while but here it is and if the weathers good, it may well be a good days ride!!!!!

Sunday 1st July

First Route I have tried to plan is to North Wales, full route to follow but basically Cogleton to Bala Lake via Wrexham and Llangollen. Bala to Barnmouth then back via Betws-Y-Coed, Ruthin and Chester.

Total of 240 miles, not too bad for the roads I might add..!

All welcome, but rough numbers and contact details would be best if furnished in advance.

I am suggesting a fairly early start, on the road for 8am, probably meeting somewhere near RJH, (if thats OK Rob?)

I intend to produce the route map as a PDF which people can view and print.

any questions, let me know via forum or jim.310@hotmail.co.uk

Jim
