Chain tensioning

Postby rebel without a clue on Fri May 30, 2008 9:24 pm

Is it normal to have to re-tension the chain every 200-300 miles?

I check it regular (at least once every two weeks)

It depends on how many miles you do! Also the quality of the chain can effect the period of adjustments.

Like rob sez it depends on the quality of the chain
or when you tension your chain is your spindle tightened back up correctly
or your tensioners could be nackered and the wheel could be moving forward
i have known in the past that the nut & bolt type will eventually strip the threads
causing the wheel to move forward
