Hi everyone,

Having ridden bikes many years ago I finally took my test last week.

Went for the direct access with Robert at RJH and had a great weeks riding with good weather topped off with a pass on Thursday.Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone as I found the bigger bike better all round.

Thanks to Rob at RJH I was well prepared even though I hadn't ridden for over 12 months since my CBT.

Previous bikes include Honda C90 (bog seat) then onto CJ250 when you could ride 250's on an 'L' plate.

Had friends who rode trials bikes so spent some time riding Bultacos, Montessa's, TY 250's etc during the early 80's.

Brought myself a Cagiva river 500 as a first 'big' bike so I'm doing some prep work on it and looking forward to riding ASAP.

Regards to all, Steve.

Hi Ian,

Yes got the float problem sorted - black rubber deposits from the fuel line inside the float chamber.

I've picked up some new fuel line and an in line filter today.

Managed to have a run around on sunday but stayed local around Mow cop and as far as Congleton.

Not happy with the warm starting of the bike,. It was sluggish to turn over when I'd got back. I hope the generator hasn't got a fault ! Tested the new fitted battery and I had full 12 Volts across.

When I have fitted the new fuel line and filters this week I'll give it another run and see how it goes.

Will keep you updated on the River saga.

Regards, Steve.

Hi Ian, in two words, not good

I'm waiting for a new CDI unit from Italy via 3X motorcycles.

The lead time is approx 5 weeks

So I'm treating myself to a look up at DK's tomorrow Oh! and then onto BS bikes in Goldenhill.

Obviously not done any riding  but been over to Wales on hols recently and seen some belting roads that I would like to ride when I can.

Like the shiney big red one! suppose that's the daily drive eh ?

Best wishes, Steve
