Just to let you know that I spent the winter doing a bit of riding (mainly commuting, avoiding the salt) but mostly thinking about what big bike to buy! After looking at various options including new/old, ER6f, Bandit, CBF600, Ducati Monster 696 wow!!, I stumbled across this:
As you can probably see it's a Yamaha XJ600s Diversion (2002), full service history with 5k on the clock. I paid £1400 - all it needed a good clean and a general check over, as it hadn't been ridden for a few months. I've been out a couple of times now and really enjoy it, although I was bit apprehensive at first. I had it restricted but it's still plenty quick enough for now - much more punch than my 125.
Looking forward to some better weather and getting a bit further than the office!
