Hello all,

Yorkie 1200 pointed me in the direction of this site on another forum.

I'm 33 yrs old and always wanted a motorcycle but ended up driving a car at 17 and never really gave it another thought until.............

16 years, a wife and three children later my wife suggested I get a motorbike to travel to work and back

So before she changed her mind or realised what she had said I did my CBT the following weekend in July of last year and bought a Yamaha Dragstar XVS125 (custom cruiser style bike) the following September.

Finally after eight months I want those L plates gone!

Hoping to do the Theory test very soon and if I pass that I'll follow that with a direct access.

Don't tell Yorkie 1200 but instead of a cruiser I quite fancy a Honda CBF600S sshhhh!

It was taken on the day it was posted, it must be the beenie hat that makes me look like I'm twelve  Although I have had a hair cut since.

A CBF not a CBR I'm not really into sports bikes as you know. The CBF is the later version of the CB that most riding schools use. I think Honda class it as a traditional bike.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

You'll have to forgive Yorkies mistake, he's getting on now and his eyesight aint what it used to be
CBF sounds like a good choice of bike.

Does your wife have any plans to take her test?

I've just asked. She's waiting for me to pass my test and get another bike so she can have my 125 to learn on

So much for me putting it in PX (the bike that is  )

I've booked a 4 hour DAS lesson for this Sunday at the place I did my CBT just to get a feel for a larger machine.

It will be the first time I've even sat on a 500 let alone attempt to ride one, I'm both nervous and excited.

I can easily do a U turn on my current bike which although being a 125cc is dimensionally quite big but whether I can tame a 500cc is another matter. :?
