Wanted - Front Exhaust Pipe for Honda NT650-V1 Deauville

Postby Andy on Mon Jun 18, 2007 9:28 pm

It's a long shot, but I don't suppose anyone has a front exhaust pipe for a 2001 Deauville for sale. Mine has acquired an extra hole and is now blasting hot exhaust fumes out into the back of the radiator - and it doesn't sound too good, either.

I only discovered it on Sunday, after I had had to remove the tank  and fairing  to replace the spark plugs! Yes, it's a 3-hour job to change 4 spark plugs - and that's with the special plug-spanner that you need to get at the middle ones.

:? Oh, yes, I know the Deauville's a vee-twin, but it has 2 plugs per pot. And you're supposed to check them every 4000 miles!

Anyway, anyone any suggestions for the front pipe? £65 +vat is the best I've come up with to date - but it's on a 2-3 week lead time.

Looks like it's going to be GunGum or something similar for a couple of weeks...

Try Ebay, someone often breaking bikes, including deauvilles.

I did try and sell you the NGK Iridium IX plugs! The benifit's of NGK IRIDIUM spark plugs are Lower fuel consumption, Longer life 4 times longer  , Smoother engine running, Improved ignition efficiency giving enhanced power and acceleration.

Maybe next time Andy

I can get any NGK plugs, from my supplier.

£5 for a Gun Gum kit and the pipe's as good as new (well, almost!). :D

So, do I buy a genuine front pipe, or pattern pipes and collector or go for a full pattern replacement :?: Hmmm...

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately it's the front pipe that's rotting.

However, the Gun Gum patch was good enough for an MOT :) so I think I'll save my pennies and wait until the pipe disintegrates completely before I replace it.
