Rob's Bikes, Which ones the Dandy of the bunch?

Postby concretesnail on Wed Jun 20, 2007 6:21 pm

Out of curiosity, Of all the bikes which pass through Rob's doors and we have riden over the days and tests which ones do we prefer?

I'll get the ball rolling. I prefered the Black 500 if i was given the choice. i just found it a little easier to get about on, do the dreaded u turns on and generally throw about.

It's silver 500 for me. As I passed on that one I suppose it will have some nostalgia value and I think it's a better looking bike than the black one.

I think I did my CBT on a Honda CG 125. Rob warned me that because I wasn't used to riding, I could well find that my back/ wrists/ arms may ache by the end of the day. As it happened, by the end of the day I had no problems with any of the above, but I was walking like John Wayne! Oooh, numb bum! :D

hi val
not a problem val thats the idea of this forum to provide
{hopefully} the right answersto your questions

you will do your cbt on a 125
your instructor will decide wheather you stay on 125,s for a bit when
taking lessons

then as your confidence grows move up to 500 :D
if you dont think you can manage 500

its not a problem take test on 125 but you will be restricted to
33bhp {brake horse power} for nxt 2 years :(

you could find that the 500 is to tall for you to sit on an reach the
floor properly

my wife {st/m.d} took test on 125 and her bike in members bike section
is a 400cc suzuki bandit ltd with a restrictor kit on an still does 80mph :D

cheers
ian

That is good sound advise

Your Instructor will assess and advise on the best route for you!

The things for you to consider, would be weight of bike (particularly slow riding) and seat height

Now your going to tell me your 6' tall and a female wrestler ?

Good luck

 no im not a 6ft wrestler
Im 5ft 8, have very long legs lol, i can hold the other halfs Balckbird up no problem with both feet on the ground, so the height bit shouldnt be a problem.
Thanks for the advice, i'll see how it goes and see which i feel most comfortable on :)
