As a driver and a biker I’ve never quite understood the point of quad bikes except for maybe rural use such as farming.
To me its one of those ideas that in general has the worst aspects of 2 great ideas i.e. cars and bikes.
And every time i see one ( admittedly in town ) it seems to be driven or is that rode by some total moron.
It sounds like they have no silencers fitted and ive never seen any rider wear any safety gear at all which amazes me.
I was just curious what other people felt about them and why is it they grouped in with bikers when discussed?
Most quads are farm vehicles but the ones we see arou d town are “racing quads”. These still have to comply with road traffic regulations, as do their riders, but most don’t seem to. Where are the traffic cops when you want them?
I don’t think the riders are bikers, though, as no biker would want to ride a quad as they have no advantage over their bike. So they’re ridden by car drivers who want a taste of bike freedom but don’t have the brains to learn to ride. 😉
Well i will never go near one again.
Would have come and done my test by now but a stupid friend injured me after convincing me to go pillion on his in Greece.
I know i should have said no but everyone was egging me on.
Then this idiot pulled a wheelie with me on the back.
Yes – i fell off.
I guess i was lucky it wasn’t worse.
And i did have a helmet on.
Anyway, 1 fractured wrist later and i have learned my lesson.
